This is dreamy and wistful and tinged with sadness and regret but what’s significant, too, is how in tune you are, Willow, with the changes. This is fine indeed.
Thanks, John, I’ve always loved the seasons and their moods, even though we don’t get much seasonal change here in the San Francisco area. I appreciate your sensitivity to all that I write and your supportive comments.
Did you feel it too, on this exact day? It is such a thing that I feel I have never noticed before! And it was so beautiful, I felt so inspired – I could FEEL autumn to my core, whatever this mysterious feeling was!
I liked the phrase ‘my pagan heart’ – very good. The sorts of feelings we have for trees, for autumn, it does have a rather pagan spirituality to it… perhaps hearkening back to our pre-Christian roots? 🙂 Well done, Willow. I so enjoy your poems!
…that’s exactly how it feels 🙂 ❤
Thanks, yes, that mood…..
Transitions are always a bit unsettling – even when you’ve done them every year./
They are, aren’t they… thanks for stopping by and commenting; it’s appreciated.
I love your poem.
Thanks so much, Sabra.

Yes, I felt it the same day I wrote and posted the poem–must have been in the air! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
